Courtesy Chevrolet San Diego brings you tips on how to clean your vehicle like a pro.

1. Cleaning your vehicles carpets: Use a stiff brush to loosen dirt from the carpet and then blow and vacuum it all out. If your vehicle is equipped  with leather seating, use a conditioner that contains aloe.
2. Clean ducts to obtain the new car smell: You will need an air compressor for this step. Use the compressor to blow dirt out of heating and air-conditioning ducts. If you vehicle contains a cabin air filter you can change it or clean the dust and dirt from it.
3. Clean the tires: Use non-acid based tire cleaners. Acid based cleaners oxidization they can also damage paint. You can also use a de greaser on wheels.
4. Hand washing is best: Do not use dishwashing detergent because it can strip the protective coatings on the vehicle. Use a good carwash solution. Finally, dry your vehicle with nothing but a rubber-blade squeegee.
5. Smooth the surface with polish: Polishing the surface will make your car shinny and new. Use an oscillating polishing machine to do so.
6. Use wax to protect the paint: Wax helps protect your paint from the elements. It is suggested to use two coats of wax. Be sure to wax every season.
7. Cleaning the glass: Make sure your glass shines by cleaning it last. Find a cleaner without ammonia, which most household cleaners contain. It is bad for vinyl upholstery and instrument panel. Before cleaning make sure to buff the glass with a microfiber cloth.
