EPA fuel economy estimates clearly put 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon at the top of the V-6 midsize pickups segment. GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado are V-6 pickups with automatic transmissions capable of outperforming the competitors, in terms of highway fuel economy, by 3 to 5 mpg (miles per gallon). Tony Johnson the marketing manager of Colorado claims that Colorado is a clear example of the fact that you do not need expensive technology to get a good fuel economy. He says that Colorado provides the consumer with a fun drive and is easy. Plus it offers the best EPA fuel economy estimates in the segment. It’s everything you expect from Chevy trucks and everything you didn’t expect from any small trucks. The 2015 Colorado will completely reinvent the midsize pickup. Built for a new generation with its own definition of adventure. It’s bold. It’s restless. It’s everything a truck should be, and more. MSRP starting at $20,120 Expected to provide unprecedented towing and power, Colorado will offer advanced 2.5L I-4 and 3.6L V6 engines at launch. Joining the engine lineup in 2015: the highly anticipated 2.8L Duramax® Turbo-Diesel. No other current North American competitor in this class offers a turbo-diesel. But no matter which engine you choose, impressive performance and remarkable efficiency ride shotgun on every trip. Colorado Towing Capacity

In the blink of an eye, the 2014 and 2015 Chevrolet Malibu is leading the way in bringing fuel-saving standard start/stop technology to the mainstream sedan market. Ninety-seven percent of customers who purchased a 2014 or 2015 Malibu – accounting for about 83,000 vehicles – opted for the 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder base engine equipped with standard stop/start technology. It is the most aggressive rollout of stop/start technology in the U.S. by an American automaker. Stop/start reduces fuel consumption and wasteful idling by automatically shutting off the engine when the car comes to a stop – such as at a traffic light. The engine automatically restarts within 337 milliseconds – about the speed of the blink of an eye – after the driver takes his foot off the brake. “Chevrolet will continue to bring innovative technologies across our product lineup and stop/start is one of many ways we are helping customers save at the gas pump,” said Steve Majoros, director of Chevrolet cars. Last fall, the 2014 Chevrolet Malibu became the first vehicle for the brand sold in the U.S. with stop/start technology. In conjunction with a new valve lift control feature and a new six-speed automatic transmission, it helped achieve a 14-percent improvement in city fuel economy, or an EPA-estimated 25 miles per gallon. J.D. Power’s most recent Initial Quality Survey, which measures the quality of vehicles after 90 days of ownership, showed customers ranked the 2014 Malibu higher than any other vehicle in its segment. The technology capitalizes on vehicle idling occurrences. According to Sustainable America, the average American driver spends 16 minutes each day idling in his or her vehicle. That adds up to four days a year going nowhere. Vehicle idling also results in Americans wasting approximately 3.8 million gallons of gas each day, according to a study by The Hinkle Charitable Foundation. This explains in part Chevrolet’s commitment to the technology. Recently, Chevrolet announced the addition of standard stop/start technology in the flagship 2015 Impala sedan. It improves city fuel economy by 5 percent, or one mpg for an EPA-estimated 22 miles per gallon. The 2015 Impala is available for sale now. A report from Navigant Research predicted worldwide sales of vehicles with stop/start technology will grow from 8.8 million in 2013 to 55.4 million in 2022.
The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette will boast 650hp, making it the most powerful car among the General Motor catalogue. With a supercharged 6.2 liter V8 that is capable of cranking out 650horsepower, the 2015 Corvette Zo6 LT4 will join a handful of exclusive cars that boast above 600hp in the US. Not only that, it will also be able to produce the same amount of torque at 650 pounds per feet, which is typically unheard of. “A car may have above 500 or even 600 horsepower, but what is the point of all that power when it isn’t delivered properly?” said Steve Kruger, sales manager at Courtesy Chevrolet, one of the leading Chevrolet dealerships in San Diego. “Torque is the ability of the engine to deliver the magnanimous power it produces, allowing it to respond at a faster pace. With insufficient torque, the car will simply start spinning out of control!” Compared to its nearest competition from Ferrari, the F12 Berlinetta, the Corvette boasts 88% of its horsepower while boasting 28% more torque. The Corvette Zo6 also outshines another Italian rival, the Porsche 911 Turbo S, by more than 85hp, while costing a fraction as much. It is the first time that Chevrolet has offered an automatic transmission on Zo6 models, albeit a six speed one. The LT4 is also able to reach a maximum RPM limit of up to 20,000, which is accomplished by minimizing the rotors to a lower diameter. This makes the Corvette Zo6 rowdier than its ZR1 counterpart, while allowing it to produce huge amounts of power in the starting band. “Vettes are as American as they come, embodying the spirit of a classic American muscle in a modern package.” The Corvette has had a long and illustrious history in North America, especially in San Diego, where there are dedicated Corvette exclusive clubs and events taking place each year. One of the most widely attended events is the ‘Vettes for Vets’, which takes place during the fall season in the North side to honor war veterans. The event features Corvettes ranging from the old 50’s models to the newer ones. Other than that, Chevrolet’s parent company General Motors has also honored war veterans by offering them huge discounts ranging in 4 digit figures on purchase of a Chevrolet model, including the Corvette. The Zo6 LT4 will be available for San Diego residents by the end of 2014 at Courtesy Chevrolet.

Introducing the all-new Performance Data Recorder (PDR), available on all 2015 Corvette models. This fully integrated video and telemetry system allows drivers to record their scenic drives or track experiences while capturing real-time performance data, then watch video playback, analyze their technique and share their drives on social media. “The Performance Data Recorder combines the ability to record and share drive videos with the power of a professional-level motorsports telemetry system,” said Tadge Juechter, Corvette chief engineer. “Drivers can easily record and share their experiences driving down the Tail of the Dragon in North Carolina or lapping Road Atlanta. In addition, with the included telemetry software, users can analyze their laps in incredible detail, and find opportunities to improve their driving and lap times.” Internet in your car?
