EPA fuel economy estimates clearly put 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon at the top of the V-6 midsize pickups segment. GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado are V-6 pickups with automatic transmissions capable of outperforming the competitors, in terms of highway fuel economy, by 3 to 5 mpg (miles per gallon).
Tony Johnson the marketing manager of Colorado claims that Colorado is a clear example of the fact that you do not need expensive technology to get a good fuel economy. He says that Colorado provides the consumer with a fun drive and is easy. Plus it offers the best EPA fuel economy estimates in the segment.
“The all-new 2015 GMC Canyon adds segment-leading fuel economy to its winning resume,” said Kenn Bakowski, Canyon marketing manager. He believes that innovations like the active grille shutters teaming up with the aerodynamic design add great value to the midsized pickup especially when you combine it with a great fuel economy. This feature is very important as it acts as a significant differentiating factor making the product irresistible as opposed to the competition.
Colorado and Canyon intend to come up with a 2.8-liter Duramax turbodiesel engine for the 2016 model. The technical details and the EPA fuel economy estimates of this design would become available when the models are nearing the launch. GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado have a large variety to offer their customers covering midsize, full-size light duty and heavy duty pickups outstripping the competition in terms of variety.
