Check out the Chevrolet Silverado Midnight Edition

Truck fans know that nothing adds presence to a pickup like basic black. And Chevrolet is taking black to the next level with the Silverado Midnight special edition, on display starting today at the National Automobile Dealers Association Convention & Expo in San Francisco, and making its public debut February 14 at the Chicago Auto Show.

Beginning with a black Silverado Z71, the Midnight special edition adds:

• An all-black front end with body-colored grille, bumper, headlamp bezels, tow hooks and fog lamps;
• Black side moldings and beltline moldings;
• 18-inch black painted alloy wheels with Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac allterrain tires;
• Special Z71 badges on the doors;
• A spray-in bedliner (black, of course);
• And the finishing touches – black Chevrolet bowties front and rear.

Like all 2015 Silverado 1500 Z71s, Midnight special editions include off-road suspension, a locking rear differential, Hill Descent Control and a trailering package. Midnight special editions also include rear park assist and heated, power-adjusted outside rear-view mirrors.

“The Midnight special edition, like our recently announced Custom Sport Silverado,lets our dealers offer a custom look right from the factory,” said Sandor Piszar, Silverado marketing director. “Customers can get a monochrome exterior, black alloy wheels and other uplevel touches, while maintaining all of the dependability Chevy trucks are famous for along with full factory warranty coverage.”

Q: Which cab and trim levels will the Midnight Special Edition be available with?
A: The Midnight Special Edition package (RPO: PDY) is only available with the 2015 Silverado 1500 series Double or Crew Cabs in the Z71 trim levels. If ordered in the Double Cab model, Midnight will only be available in LT/Z71 4WD configuration (2LT). If ordered in the Crew Cab model, Midnight will only be available in LTZ/Z71 4WD configuration (2LZ). The Midnight package is not available on 1WT; 1LS; 1LT; 1LZ and 3LZ (High Country) trim levels. It is also not available on Regular Cabs.

Q: Will the Midnight Special Edition package be available with all exterior colors?
A: The Midnight Special Edition package is unique in that it offers Black painted body color fascia and bumpers to set itself apart. Beholding to its Midnight name, the package is only available with Black (RPO: GBA) exterior.

Q: What is included in the Midnight Special Edition package?
A: The Midnight Special Edition (RPO: PDY) enhances the Z71 trim by providing unique black painted fascia, grille and bumpers; as well as 18” black painted wheels equipped with Goodyear DuraTrac All-Terrain tires. The badging includes dealer-installed front and rear black bowties, and a “hard” Z71 badge that is placed on the door just above the lower body
side molding (the Silverado door badge and Z71 box decal is deleted). The package also includes Rear Park Assist (RPO: UD7) and Spray-on Bedliner (RPO: CGN).

Q: Is the Midnight Special Edition package available with all engines and drives?
A: The Midnight Special Edition package is an option package for Double Cabs in the 2LT package (LT/Z71), and Crew Cabs in the 2LZ package (LTZ/Z71). The package is only available in 4WD models, but it is available with all respective engine options.

Q: When will the Midnight Special Edition package be available?
A: Ordering for the Midnight Special Edition Double Cab will commence on Thursday, February 19, 2015, with production starting in mid-March 2015. The Midnight Special Edition Crew Cab starts Thursday, March 5, 2015, with production starting in early-April 2015. The package will be available for the rest of the 2015 model run; however, production is limited to approximately 5000 units for the 2015 model run.

Q: How much will the Midnight Special Edition cost?
A: The Midnight Special Edition is an option package (RPO: PDY) available with 2LT Double Cabs, and 2LZ Crew Cabs. The Manufacturer Suggested Price (MSRP) for the package on 2LT Double Cabs is $1995; 2LZ Crew Cabs MSRP is $1595. The model, trim, destinations, tax, title and other fees are in addition to these package prices. There are no Option Package

Q: Is there a production cap for the Midnight Special Edition package? In other words, will it be constrained?
A: The Midnight Special Edition package (RPO: PDY) is limited to approximately 5000 units for the model year; therefore, a restriction is expected to be in place for most DOSP cycles through the end of the 2015 model year.

Q: The Midnight Special Edition includes Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires. Are there any concerns with these tires?
A: The Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac Tires feature a great-looking, all-terrain tread pattern. This tread pattern may result in a higher level of road noise while driving. Routine tire rotations are strongly recommended to minimize the tread wearing irregularities, which could lead to vibration and excessive road noise.

Chevrolet will offer the Silverado Midnight special edition in either 1500 double-cab or crew-cab models. Up to 5,000 Midnight special editions will be produced for the 2015 model year. Dealers can order the trucks starting in February 2015. Package prices be $1,595 to $1,995, depending on the model.
